It seems that some city governments aren't taking the hint from the pro-military backlash levied against the Liberal nuts in Berkeley and San Francisco. Behold Toldeo, Ohio, Mayor Carty Finkbeiner, Democrat.
The 200 members of Company A, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., planned to spend their weekend engaged in urban patrol exercises on the streets of downtown as well as inside the mostly vacant Madison Building, 607 Madison Ave.
Toledo police knew days in advance about their plans for a three-day exercise. Yet somehow the memo never made it to Mayor Finkbeiner, who ordered the Marines out yesterday afternoon just minutes before their buses were to arrive.
"The mayor asked them to leave because they frighten people," said Brian Schwartz, the mayor's spokesman.
Awe, the Mayor was scared by the big, bad Marines who are training to stay alive while protecting the United States of America, including, methinks, Toldeo, Ohio. The moron actually ordered the Toldeo Police to set up a roadblock to stop the Marines from entering the city. Unbelievable.
It just goes to show you the Liberal hate and cowardice can be contagious, too. And as we've learned from the Berkeley fiasco, the we-support-the-troops-but-not-the-mission-let's-surrender-quickly-before-we-win Democrats aren't about to support any legislation that stops federal earmarks to these people.
