Well, this is why you don't want an old Army grunt making decisions about inbound Iranian gunboats in international waters. My first was urge was to sink the suckers. But Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA), speaking on Fox News this morning, describes the Navy response as the correct one.
Meanwhile, Pres. Bush has warned the Iranians:
Bush said "all options are on the table" to protect U.S. ships. He said the Iranian boats "were very provocative and it was a dangerous gesture on their part. ... And they know our position, and that is: There will be serious consequences if they attack our ships, pure and simple. And my advice to them is don't do it."
And here's what the nuts at The Huffington Post had to say. Hooman Majd, the "author" of the piece, is a music company executive. he apparently is also an expert on U.S. Naval warfare, as well. But who cares about facts when you're a left-wing wacko, right?
The Weekly Standard has a more balanced view of the matter.
I'm proud of our guys out there in the Gulf. Let's hope that they remain on their toes. We don't need another USS Cole. Or even an HMS Cornwall.
