Al Sharpton is at it again.

This time he flew to Mexico City to get his face on TV convince escaped New Jersey convict Otis Blunt to surrender. He apparently had no telephone with which to call the FBI - or even Mexican police - so he flew there himself for the photo op to help authorities.

Authorities had no immediate word on whether the Rev. Al Sharpton's visit Tuesday and Wednesday to Mexico City in an effort to arrange Blunt's surrender played a role in the arrest.

In a statement, Sharpton said, "I wish I could have been on hand to assure Mr. Blunt's safety but clearly his calling me to where he was helped lead to the conclusion that it did, and I hope that justice for all parties will be served."

What a guy. So, if you're an escaped convict and armed robber, hiding out in Mexico - oh, and black - have no fear. Marshal Al Sharpton will protect you from the U.S. Justice system and see you safely back to your cell. Sadly, he appeared to be of little help on this occasion.
