Impeach Cheney? I Think Not..
So left-wing nut Rep. Dennis Kucinich pitched his resolution to impeach VPOTUS Dick Cheney today, despite repeated claims by Nancy Pelosi and other senior Dems that no such action would be forthcoming.
Here's the actual text of the resolution and here are the twenty-one co-sponsors.
It seems that many Democrats voted for the impeachment resolution initially and then, when many Republicans also voted for impeachment, (which would force the Democrats to openly debate the matter and, essentially, give an up or down vote), the Democrats had to change their votes to kill it, after all. They couldn't be seen as giving credibility to Kucinich while destroying Pelosi's at the same time, right?
Your tax dollars at work, folks. The good old "so-nothing Congress" is wasting time debating this resolution - doing nothing more than playing games, really, on something that neither side wants to go forward on - while the truly important issues like illegal immigration and border security are completely and steadfastly ignored.
And the situation gets worse every day.
People complained when the Republicans had the ball, and now that Pelosi and the Democrats have it, they still haven't accomplished anything. It's like watching little kids at recess, with all the name-calling and finger pointing. Both sides are going at each other as a matter of course, not bothering to linger on what is best for America or her people.
The Weekly Standard nails it:
It's interesting that on such a weighty question as impeaching the vice president of the United States, votes can change so quickly. While the roll calls are not yet available, it seems there were plenty of Democrats who voted to go forward with impeachment when they thought it would fail, who suddenly voted against impeachment when it mattered. I guess it was all just about politics after all -- even for the supposed 'true believers.'
When are we going to learn?
