In the face of growing successes in Iraq and the start of troop withdrawals, the Liberals are panicking. The latest surrender legislation, which passed 218-203, would mandate that POTUS begin pulling all troops out of Iraq with a goal of ceasing all combat action by December of 2008. It also states that the money from the bill can only be used to withdraw troops and not to fund, extend or prolong combat operations.
The legislation also limited hurting terrorists feelings "harsh interrogation techniques" such as waterboarding, another Liberal albatross, of late. Those caveats were tied to the $50 billion that President Bush wants for the war effort.
Obviously, the bill will neither survive the Senate or, if necessary, a presidential veto.
Simply put, this latest Liberal surrender attempt is about one thing: panic.
The Liberals are facing more ire from their far-left fringe elements like CodePink and MoveOn.org for failing to end the war, their supposed "mandate" after the last elections. And that translates to fewer votes, less money and even more opposition. Yikes.
Additionally, success in Iraq would be a complete and total failure for the Liberals, who, despite voting for the war originally, have refused to support the troops and their efforts on the ground in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Successes there, which even some of the MSM is beginning to report, means that the Liberals have been wrong all along and that maybe - just maybe - the Republicans and POTUS were right. And we can't have that, can we?
Let's see, what else?
- Hillary Clinton has suddenly sprouted leaks, as more and more people are recognizing her for the complete and total fraud that she is.
- Nancy Pelosi and her "most ethical Congress in history" have accomplished absolutely nothing of importance, and her reign thus far has been marred by failure after failure. Let's hear it for the power!
- The fringe groups are alienating more and more Americans with their attacks on Gen. Petraeus, their attempts to stop military convoys in Washington state, their pathetic protests and their vile attacks on anyone who doesn't agree with them. Since the Liberals can't condemn these people, they are implying agreement with their views and tactics, and Americans don't like it.
And on and on and on.
In short, America must lose in Iraq if the Liberals are to win the presidency in the next election. This isn't about right and wrong or what's best for America. It's about greed and money. The Liberals want the power of the White House and Congress and they will do anything to get it. If they have to refuse money to the troops that they sent into battle, if they have to attack their commander, if they have to lie and ignore all of our successes in Iraq, so be it. They want to be president and their only chance of that is a complete and devastating failure in Iraq.
The Liberals - and the MSM, alike - have a vested interest in losing this war. We're fighting more than the enemy, this time.
I hope you're all paying attention.

I couldn't resist. It seems that BLACKFIVE has gotten into Nancy Pelosi's mail:
