Is the UN Hiding Syria's Pursuit of Nukes?
The fact that Israel hit some type of nuclear facility in Syria with air strikes last month now seems to be commn knowledge. The strange thing is that everyone involved, with the exception of a "unnamed British ministerial source," remains quiet when it comes to the details. That "official," in fact, was quoted as saying that we were on the verge of World War lll.
So why all the silence?
During a meeting at the UN today, a senior Syrian official apparently admitted the attack:
A high-ranking Syrian official confirmed that Israel’s airstrike last month in northern Syria hit a nuclear facility, according to a document obtained Wednesday by FOX News.
“Israel was the fourth-largest exporter of weapons of mass destruction and a violator of other nations’ airspace, and it had taken action against nuclear facilities, including the 6 July attack in Syria,” Syrian representative Bassam Darwish is quoted in the document as saying.
Diplomats familiar with the document cannot explain why July 6 was invoked, instead of Sept. 6, the date both countries say an incident occurred. A State Department source tells FOX News the best explanation is that Darwish misspoke… (courtesy of Hot Air.)
However, the transcript of the officials remarks were later changed before they were released in the official U.N. document. It seems that the U.N. is blaming the initial quote as an "interpreter error" even though the interpreter got the word right throughout the rest of the translation.
And let's not forget those pesky rumors of NBC elements being moved to Syria before the war, or the chemical weapons "experiment" that killed dozens in Syria a month before the Israeli airstrikes occurred.
So, all the big players in the drama know what happened, but the details aren't being made public. Whatever it was, it brought us to the brink of WWlll. The West isn't talking, Syria has offered only half-hearted complaints and now the U.N. is changing documented statements to cover up the details.
Very big indeed.
