Well, after years of doing absolutely nothing about illegal immigration, the government has decided to address the problem by making it worse.
Once again, the safety and security of America falls victim to political machinations and gutless politicians.
Once again, illegal immigrants are given amnesty under the threat that they will be deported in the future if they don't obey this new set of immigration laws.
Once again, honest, law-abiding Americans will be subjected to more overcrowded schools, more overcrowded hospitals, more crime, more gang violence and more illegal aliens overall, as those already here bring even more family into the country.
And by the way, our borders are still wide open.
This "new" policy is a complete sham and is being forced down the throats of honest, law-abiding Americans by a president and a Congress that refuses to acknowledge the scope of the problem and ignores the fact that an overwhelming majority of Americans want the border closed first and a comprehensive immigration overhaul - with NO AMNESTY - second.
We are being sold a bill of goods by a president trying to establish his legacy in the face of his Iraq War mistakes; by a Democrat-lead Congress who will happily accept more illegals who are most likely to vote Democrat down the line; by Republicans looking for their own political gain; by an incompetent and poorly lead DoHS and by a whole host of politicians, groups, businesses and agencies who care more about their pockets than this country.
And the cost of this 'end-all-be-all' solution? 2.5 trillion dollars.
Absolutely disgusting.
We need to stop this crap. Our elected leaders clearly do not have the courage to do the right thing, so they have to be stopped. Call them, e-mail them, write to them and let them know how feel about this pathetic agreement that supports rather than stops illegal immigration.
