Reid and the Dems surrender UPDATED
Harry Reid and the Democrats surrendered today.
They waved the white flag to the Iranians, Iraqi insurgents, Al Sadr, al Qaeda and terrorists and enemies of this country everywhere.
He showed our allies that the Democrats cannot be counted on to stand their ground, keep their word, support our military or defend our country and people.
And he pretended to be speaking on behalf of the American people when he did it.
From Breitbart:
The war in Iraq "is lost" and a US troop surge is failing to bring peace to the country, the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Congress, Harry Reid, said Thursday. Feel free to contact Reid and let him know that, even though he has surrendered, the rest of America is still able and willing to fight for our way of life!
"I believe ... that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week," Reid told journalists.
Reid said he had delivered the same message to US President George W. Bush on Wednesday, when the US president met with senior lawmakers to discuss how to end a standoff over an emergency war funding bill.
"I know I was the odd guy out at the White House, but I told him at least what he needed to hear ... I believe the war at this stage can only be won diplomatically, politically and economically."
Well, you don't speak for me, sir.
I know the men and women who are serving this country in the war effort and I know that they can prevail in any conflict with the right support from Congress and the American people. That means the right equipment, the right training, the necessary number of troops and the courage to stand by the vote you made when you sent them over there in the first place.
What they really need is for people like you, sir, to shut up, to quit playing politics with the future of our country, and do whatever is necessary for us to win.
I would hope that the Democratic majority in the US Congress would be a person of fortitude, of commitment, of resolve, of integrity and of honor. It is my opinion, sir, that you are none of these.
And you are hurting my country and the men and women who serve her.
You don't speak for me.
