Bush warns the Dems...finally
It seems like President Bush has already had enough of the 'most ethical Congress in history'.
Today, he finally let the Dems have it.
Bush, in a late-afternoon statement at the White House, said he would fight any subpoena effort in court.
"We will not go along with a partisan fishing expedition aimed at honorable public servants," he said. "It will be regrettable if they choose to head down the partisan road of issuing subpoenas and demanding show trials when I have agreed to make key White House officials and documents available."
He added that federal prosecutors work for him and it is natural to consider replacing them. While saying he disapproved of how the decisions were explained to Congress, he insisted "there is no indication that anybody did anything improper."
It's good to see the defiant guy back. The one that stands his ground and does what he thinks is right. This was the "I'm the boss and I'm in charge!" President of post 9-11.
It seems that since the Dems can't keep their pre-2006 election promises, they will instead try to nickel-and-dime this administration to death, hoping that the anti-war folks won't notice that the surge in not only proceeding, but going well.
The Dems want Gozales out because any AG replacement would have to be confirmed by the Democrat-lead Congress. I wonder what Janet Reno is doing these days?

This whole non-scandal is just another papercut the rats are trying to inflict upon the Republicans to ensure they get into the White House in '08. That's it.
Put the Exececutive branch under oath prior to the finding of any "crime." Then shout it out enough with their MSM megaphone and the people think a crime was committed.
Politically, there are no good options. Acquiesce to hearings, where any substantive defense will be left on the cutting room floor, to leave room for the soundbites of Chuck Schumer grandstanding. Or, invoke executive privilege and watch the press do nothing for days but chew on the issue of what Bush has to hide.
Either way, Alberto Gonzales will get tossed overboard as a sacrifice to the sharks below.
In his live press conference today, Bush told the Democrats in no uncertain terms; if they want a fight, they’ve got one. Damnit, where has this GW been? I think a lot of the rest of the RINOs who have abandoned him and our party need to watch this presser several times over and remember what it was like way back then when they all had some balls!
It is amusing to see Democrats respond to criticisms. We always hear about "The Republican attack machine," "Rovian attacks," and my personal favorite, "attacks out of the Rove playbook." These comments come from a party that is in power solely because of their own partisan smear campaign and attack machine.
Democrats simply believe that they should never be questioned or criticized. To do so is a sin worthy of you being branded as the devil... meanwhile they constantly try to create scandals where there is none, and we're supposed to believe they're doing it for the good of the country?
Sadly, it's the same old Democrats with even worse leadership. Heaven help us all.
