More disturbing news regarding yesterday's post, Al Qaeda Planning Nuclear Attack In The U.S.
From Deb at Right Truth:
Americans are worried. Worried about the terrorists, the war against Islamic terrorists, the Muslim reaction to the Pope's comments, ... worried about our military, our politicians, ... worried about Europe going to the dogs and worried about the invitation from Muslims for America to accept the invitation to convert and be ruled by sharia law ... or die, while the terrorists are planning major attacks on American soil in the very near future.
[...]
We sit here with our politicians arguing over every little thing, rather than doing what they need to do to protect us, while Muslims in New York and Washington are being told to leave the country ahead of a major terror attack during Ramadan, possibly a nuclear attack.
Right in one.
From Stop The ACLU:
This news is something that should not be ignored. I don’t want to send false alarms and we all hope this is just propaganda, but more and more sources are pointing to this being a real possibility. If we ignored this and it did end up happening we would have to accept the consequences of doing nothing to stop it.
And Redneck's Revenge:
As I have stated before (as many others have) it is just a matter of time until the next (massive) attack. It is of course up for discussion if this reporter is telling the truth in the first place and then it's up for discussion when this super mujahid or someone else can successfully pull off another massive attack.
Updated at Ace of Spades HQ:
....noting, as an intel source reminds, that Al Qaeda is prone to make such declarations simply to boost jihadist morale.
Even so, Al Shukri-Juma is a terrorist and probably inside the United States (or Canada). BOLO.
Referring to TKS on National Review Online:
It's probably nothing, and hopefully, in a few weeks, we can all laugh about how silly it was for Jim to be nervous about an attack right about now.
I'm particularly skeptical of any talk of a "nuke." A dirty bomb, however, would probably be manageable, and it wouldn't even take that much radioactivity to cause a panic.
We didn't discuss this too much during the 9/11 anniversary, but I'll bet a big reason that there hasn't been a successful attack is that we now have a much more vigilant public.
Commenting, for the most part on this piece at Canada Free Press. A must read. In part:
Urgent news from Abu Dawood, the newly appointed commander of the al Qaeda forces in Afghanistan:
Final preparations have been made for the American Hiroshima, a major attack on the U. S.
Muslims living in the United States should leave the country without further warning.
The attack will be commandeered by Adnan el Shukrijumah ("Jaffer Tayyer" or "Jafer the Pilot"), a naturalized American citizen, who was raised in Brooklyn and educated in southern Florida.
The al Qaeda operatives who will launch this attack are awaiting final orders. They remain in place in cities throughout the country. Many are masquerading as Christians and have adopted Christian names.
Al Qaeda and the Taliban will also launch a major strike (known as the "Badar offensive" against the coalition forces in Afghanistan during the holy month of Ramadan.
The American people will be treated to a final audio message from Osama bin Laden which will be aired within the next two weeks.
Naturally, the purpose of terrorism is to terrorize through force or fear of force. Making threats about nuclear attacks would certainly fall under such a definition. There seems to be no question that our enemies watch and manipulate the MSM. Perhaps this is another tactic, a way to promote their message of hate while instilling fear. Make threats and see if the West squirms and converts to Islam.
Or maybe not. Both the FBI and DoHS have alerts up for El Shulrijumah, so obviously they know something about this guy.
We don't need to be alarmist. And there is certainly, as far as I know, nothing to indicate that such an attack is imminent, either here or abroad. But we do need to increase our vigilance and catch this guy and whomever may be with him.
But we have been far too lazy in the Global War on Terror. We have talked and talked to the Iranians and the North Koreans, to no avail. We backed down to the U.N. and France, et al, and made Israel stop fighting Hezbollah. We have watched Europe (minus our friends, the Brits) turn into a continent of greedy, self-serving, America-hating hypocrites, who want nothing more than to see us fail.
We did nothing after we were attacked repeatedly by these people in the 80's and 90's. We (Clinton, that is), cut and ran in Somalia. We did nothing in Lebanon after our Marines were murdered. We failed to kill bin Laden. After initial successes in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have seen things change for the worse.
We turned the safety of this nation into a talking point, a way to garner votes in the next election. Our politicians argue and bicker like children, name calling and finger pointing. But they do nothing, solve nothing, agree on nothing.
And it's our fault. We elected these weak fools who care more about votes than our security. Who care more about personal power than doing the right thing. Who refuse to support our troops, though few of them have ever - or would ever - wear the uniform of our great military.
We have to quit kissing the world's ass and realize that we are fighting for our very existence. Screw Iraq and Afghanistan. If they don't care about their country and their countrymen, why should we? Screw France, Germany, Spain and the U.N. They will be attacked, as we will be, and they can fend for themselves. See how long that lasts.
Let's devote every American dollar and every American life to America: our security and our success. Let's control our borders and force the illegals out, whoever they may be, while preventing more from coming in. Let's beef up our military and support our interests around the globe with everything we have. Let's train our first responders and medical people to be ready for any/every emergency.
Let's support out true allies, like Israel, England and Australia with everything we have. And let every other nation make a choice: with us or against us. No more middle ground. Pick a side or stand aside.
Let's come together as a nation and be a nation!
